The Katsina State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has officially commenced its operations, marking the occasion with an inaugural visit to the Chief Judge of Katsina State, Justice Musa Ɗanladi Abubakar, and the Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Fadila Mohammed Dikko. This visit is part of the commission’s efforts to secure support and collaboration in executing its duties in accordance with legal and procedural standards.

Retired Justice Lawal Garba, the Chairman of the Commission, who led the delegation, stated that the purpose of the visit was to seek cooperation and backing from these key officials to ensure the commission’s activities are effectively carried out. He emphasized that collaboration between the relevant sectors, particularly in training staff and implementing legal judgments, will significantly enhance the commission’s effectiveness.

Additionally, he called on the Commissioner of Justice to assist in providing permanent staff for the commission to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

In her response, the Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Fadila Mohammed Dikko, pledged to assign a lawyer to the commission to collaborate in the fight against corruption. She acknowledged the widespread nature of corruption in the country but expressed confidence that the establishment of this commission would play a crucial role in mitigating the issue within Katsina State.

Dr. Jamilu, the Secretary of the Commission, asserted that the commission would not be lenient with anyone found guilty of corruption, stressing that its operations would be conducted strictly within the bounds of the law.

Chief Judge of Katsina State, Justice Musa Ɗanladi Abubakar, in his remarks, assured the commission of his full support, announcing plans to establish courts dedicated to hearing corruption-related cases. He also guaranteed cooperation with the commission to ensure justice and fairness in their proceedings.
